AshleyMcKibbinjoined CHHS in June 2016 as a Policy Analyst. Ms. McKibbin received a B.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Europe and Eurasia and a minor in Religion from the George Washington University in 2014. She received her Masters of Research (MRes) in International Relations from the University of Glasgow in 2015. Ms. McKibbin holds memberships with the Russian Honor Society (Dobro Slovo) and the National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology (Theta Alpha Kappa).
Prior to her position at CHHS, Ms. McKibbin interned at the District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency in the External Affairs and Policy office. While in this role, Ms. McKibbin conducted research on best practices of social media use for emergency management agencies. She also worked on several preparedness campaigns as well as outreach events.
Since joining the Center, Ms. McKibbin has worked as a regional planner for the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. In this role, Ms. McKibbin has developed local and regional plans and projects. Some of these local efforts include dam emergency action plans, special events planning, and a Critical Infrastructure Protection Program to name a few. Ms. McKibbin has also served as the workgroup chair for several different workgroups with the National Capital Region (NCR) Planners’ Subcommittee structure including the Regional Special Events Planning Guide (RSEPG) and the 2018 NCR Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA). In 2017, Ms. McKibbin was promoted to Senior Policy Analyst.
