Hanna Leonard, JD
Senior Law & Policy Analyst
Hanna Leonard joined CHHS as a Law & Policy Analyst in 2021. She attended the Pennsylvania State University, and graduated from the Schreyer Honors College in 2018. She earned two degrees, the first a Bachelors of Arts in Communications Arts and Sciences and the second a Bachelors of Arts in International Politics with a focus in National Security. Following her graduation in 2018, she attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She earned her Juris Doctor and her concentration in Health Law in May 2021.
Prior to joining CHHS, Hanna was able to glean a variety of internship experiences. She worked with the Attorney General’s Office, acting as the administrative coordinator of the COVID-19 Task Force and advocating for the eradication of no-knock warrants in Baltimore. Prior to that, Hanna worked with Project HEAL at the Kennedy Krieger Institute where she attended state-wide policy meetings regarding disability rights and serving individuals with disabilities receive legal advice. Hanna’s professional experience also includes working with the Johns Hopkins Hospital Office of General Counsel, researching issues at the intersection of healthcare and the law.
Currently, Hanna is working on a project to inform and train long-term care facilities in emergency preparedness according to CMS guidelines and standards.
