Matilda Channel-Wardis the CHHS Senior Accountant. She is responsible for the financial management for the Center. In addition to working closely with the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law Controller to make sure financial issues and transactions process smoothly, she serves as the CHHS liaison for University of Maryland, Baltimore central offices. “Till” as she is known to most, process pre award requirements and assists with post award close-out reports for the many federal, state, and local funds awarded to CHHS. In addition to working for the Baltimore Campus, she holds an adjunct faculty appointment with the University of Maryland –Baltimore County. Professor Channel-Ward teaches primarily Principles of Accounting I and Intermediate Accounting I.
Prior to joining CHHS, Mrs. Channel-Ward spent 10 years working for Johns Hopkins University where she served as Administrative Manager and Financial Analyst for many research projects. She obtained her BS in Accounting from the University of Baltimore in 1996 and during her tenure with Johns Hopkins University, she obtained her MBA with a concentration in Finance.
Mrs. Channel-Ward is also the founder of the “Get In The RACE” Foundation. The foundation was established in 2007 to provide scholarships for automotive technology and CDL training. One year later, Till was diagnosed with breast cancer and as a breast cancer survivor, one third of the foundation proceeds is to assist cancer patients.
Projects
- As the Senior Accountant for CHHS, Ms. Channel-Ward has had a hand in all projects coming into the Center.
